After studying electrical engineering and earning a doctorate in control engineering, Dr. Andreas Piepenbrink worked for several years in management positions in automotive (Leopold Kostal, ZF Friedrichshafen, Wilhelm Karmann) and in semiconductor testing (Dover Cooperation). After first steps in bidirectional charging together with Volkswagen in 2008 he founded E3/DC GmbH as a major milestone in solar and emergency power homes using residential energy storage. Within a decade the company has evolved to an established inverter manufacturer, awarded as a brand of the century in energy storage and energy management volume business.
HagerGroup became shareholder in 2008 and in 2021 the new business unit HagerEnergy was established to secure the market share of HagerGroup in the field of charging on European level, sharpening the electric future as a major future player in bidirectional charging (V2H). Having a strong focus on customer satisfaction the company has already gained 60,000 customers. In 2021, a turnover of 200 Mio. Euro was generated by 250 employees.
